To keep employees energized and on their feet, you typically think that keeping them well caffeinated is the best way to do so.

And while a perfectly brewed cup of joe is the normal way to stay upbeat, could high levels of caffeine have negative impacts on your employees?

Well, the jury is still out on how healthy coffee and caffeine actually is for someone.

First, Medical News Today reports that drinking three cups of coffee a day may reduce the risk of liver cancer by 50%.

Additionally, the Harvard School of Public Health cited that drinking between two and four cups of coffee each day could reduce the risk of “suicide” in adults. However, negative effects have been noted as well.

For instance, Forbes notes that caffeine induces a release of adrenaline, which can promote anxiety and irrational decision making and behavior, which is not helpful in a work environment.

Forbes also notes that caffeine intake can raise blood pressure and prompt rapid shallow breathing as further negative side effects.

With that being said, while there is no way to stop the consumption of coffee in your office, you can encourage and facilitate other energy-raising activities in the Houston area in order to keep employees revitalized, happy, and engaged.
