That’s right, we’re pulling out the old stuff and installing a brand new flooring system in our entire 4500+ sq ft climbing area!
So say goodbye to the old, shredded up, recycled rubber flooring we currently have.
And say hello to a brand new, custom designed, impact-absorbing, laminated foam flooring system currently being used in state-of-art rock climbing gyms across the country.
Even though the old floor has done a fantastic job over the years, and continues to work okay, it’s time to move on.
So we’ve pulled the trigger and in couple weeks, it’s history.
Now if you’re a little sentimental about the current stuff or feel a strange emotional connection to recycled shreaded rubber playground turf, please feel free to grab a handful for a souvenir. (We’re kidding of course… ummm….unless that’s your thing.)
Best of all, the bouldering area will get the same new flooring system along with brand-new, uber-cushy, crash pads. These things are sweeeeet.
We’re also installing a couple cool new training features as well. (But you’ll have to come in to find out what it is.)
Now here’s the important part…
We have to close the gym temporarily in order to install the new floor.
We will be closed from Sunday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov 30st. This is best time for us to close because this project requires us to remove all the old shreaded turf, clean up any loose debris, and install the new flooring system.
It’s a massive project to complete in as short of time as possible.
Since we’ll be closed for week, we’re also taking the opportunity to do some light remodeling in key areas too. The bathrooms and the front lobby are getting revamped, new drinking water fountains are being installed with reverse osmosis filtering, and we’re also adding several new lockable storage lockers in the lobby.
That’s not all we’re doing but it covers most of big stuff.
We all think you’ll really enjoy the new updates. Everyone we talk to is super excited and can’t wait to see the new, improved Texas Rock Gym.
Our goal has always been to make the sport of rock climbing more available to everyone in the community and this major investment our facility will go a long way towards making that goal a reality.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we know the final outcome will be worth it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the gym or stop by the front desk.
Thanks again for your continued support.
We look forward to hearing your feedback about our makeover when we reopen Monday, Dec. 1st.
